I think plastic should be considered for wines that don't need aging, because-like you pointed out-plastic doesn't really do the trick for wines that need time in the bottle... Like lighter whites, fruit-infused, etc. However, if that's the issue, I…

Jessyca, you brought up a good point - the mark up. This weighs heavily in the question for me. A tip for me represents outstanding service and experience when eating out, this includes the quality of food and your server. However wine in restaurant…

Oops! I had Rosés on the mind. Should have been the '07 Riesling. And I do highly recommend it! Just got six bottles for our restaurant, and I'm very very excited about it.

Long story...catch the irony??? John the 3rd...little John all my life...met my wife (her dad is John)...enrolled at the Seattle Culinary Academy...three John's in the class (no, not potties)...put Big John on my whites and ya know, it stuck. I don't claim anything over 6'5" and I max out many scales...nuff said. As for sumptuous fare...lamb is my specialty and I make a mean BBQ. Wow, I am getting hungry. I think we will have thin crust pizza, smoked tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil from the garden and a bottle of Fallobst 2005 Red Blend, Walla Walla Valley Sangio/Cab Sauv blend. Yum!

Music and Wine Pairing - June 10th, 2009

Anaal Nathrakh - 'In The Constellation Of The Black Widow' + Orin Swift 2006 'The Prisoner"

If you follow me on Twitter, you recently witnessed my obsessing over the new album from this infamous "kvlt" UK duo. Blackened death crustcore with absolutely seething ferocity. We're talking sizzling vitriol all over the place, from the stellar production to the uber-necro vocals, these guys go for the jugular with blast beats, nihilism, evil riffage, and a dose of melodic dynamics to help sink their t… Continue

Should you ever be without it?

"In victory you deserve it; in defeat you need it."
