I am enjoying a 2005 Petit Verdot from Waterbrook Winery in Walla Walla Washington. This has to be one of my favorite wines of all time. It hasn't been available to buy in over a year and I just opened one of two bottles I have left. Nice rich, full body without intrusive tanins. Soft on the nose, but surprisingly rich juicy taste, I'm thinking like blackberries. Delicious! Cheers!

Big Tasting weekend in Walla. Where should I taste?

Jeffry - If you have ot already checked out Abeja - this is perfect for your harvest 2009 visit in Walla Walla. An Estate winery & amazing accomodations in the middle of wheat fields. Really beautiful. Also Girisol Vineyards. That's over by Pepperbridge and very lovely as well.
Fat Duck Inn is not a winery - but it's an amazing place right in town with a highly regarded chef / dinning. So for a B & B that's really good for foodie / wine traveler that could work too!
Cheers,
Denise

*sigh* I miss Walla Walla - my friends, having such great access to all my favorite wines. . . It is like a vortex - a culmination of so many incredible people. I miss my drive from Dayton! I hope to be back someday soon.

Walla Walla is a part of my childhood... summer vacation from the Willamette Valley - a little bit of fishing and racing go-carts through the big trees. Now it is the focus of a production leg of our travelogue about wine and food - The Corkscrew Diary. A pretty fun twist in life's travels.

We've not yet found the locations for the episodes we plan to capture in the area - another reason that I am here. We are looking for emerging destination estates ( meaning w/ accommodation and culinary support ) to display on the show. We plan to visit around the harvest of 2009...

Any suggestions?

Cheers!

I am a fan of Walla Walla because I live here! But in all seriousness, there are some very unique wineries doing amazing things here in the Walla Walla Valley, and its great to be a part of such a thriving industry. Who is going to Feast Walla Walla on the 11th? What about Barrel Tasting first weekend in May? I will be roaming the streets with purple teeth so look for me.

The only people who don't love LOVE Walla Walla are the people who have never been there. And that's the truth!

My name is Turner and I used to live in Walla Walla. The wheat fields and the wineries are the best!
