Love the Bordeaux blends. In France, the permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Carmenere. So what are some killer American blends that follow that style? And what are the best regions for this style? Geographically speaking, northern Oregon and southern Washington states are most similar in terms of latitudes. What about climatically?
I know making Bordeaux-style blends is becoming quite the fad. So, lets filter through the masses and find those killer blends (preferably affordable ones).

I would have to say that Soos Creek Wine Cellars has some of the best Bordeaux style blends out there. The Sundance starts at $20 but my two faves are both less than $40. The Artist Series #6 is $31.50 and the Ciel du Cheval is $36 - and the Ciel du Cheval vineyard was recently named #2 in the state! Incredible! On the more expensive side there is Tamarack Cellars DuBrul Vineyard Reserve near $50 and Côte Bonneville Carriage House. Then there is Cadence. . . all of his wines are blends - and all are quite lovely albeit a little pricey. *sigh*

Also - take a look to the Andrew Will red wines (not the Cuvee Lucia line). They are all triad blends of Cab, Cab Franc, and Merlot.... they tend to run in $40 range and take about 5 years to come 'round but they are really beautiful, structured wines that show the terroir of the vineyards he uses - Klipsun, Champoux, Sheridan, etc...
